J. W. Carell, 1936-2013
J.W. Carell, chairman and founder of CareAll Home Care, was a distinguished home health pioneer and leader in Tennessee for nearly 30 years. Until his passing in 2013, he oversaw significant advancements in the delivery of home care and continuously demonstrated a passion for delivering comfort and healing for CareAll Home Care patients.
Mr. Carell’s aptitude as an entrepreneur was apparent at a young age, when he operated a shoeshine stand every Saturday while he was in grade school. He went on to graduate from the University of Notre Dame in 1958, then launched his career with Mutual of Omaha right out of college. He later started successful businesses in insurance, office products, real estate, and health care.
Mr. Carell led CareAll with great pride and dignity, instilling in the company a commitment to providing the very best in quality of care across Tennessee. Under his direction CareAll became one of the largest home health businesses in the South.
Recognizing the importance of education, Mr. Carell left a legacy of generous philanthropic support for educational institutions throughout Middle Tennessee.
